Congratulations to Molecular Medicine PhD candidates Garrett Hauck and Catherine (Katie) Hoover on being awarded prestigious NIH F31 fellowships!
Garrett will conduct his research under the mentorship of Dr. Jil Tardiff. His project, titled "Mutation-Specific Calmodulin Kinase II Activation in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy," aims to explore the molecular mechanisms driving this inherited heart condition.
Katie will be working under the guidance of Dr. Henk Granzier on her project, "Defining the Relationship Between Titin Segment A168-170 and the E3 Ligase MuRF1 in Skeletal Muscle Atrophy," which seeks to advance our understanding of skelatal muscle atrophy.
These competitive awards are a testament to Garrett and Katie’s dedication and promise as emerging scientists. Congratulations again!
