Thank you for your interest in the Biomedical Sciences Certificate Program through the University of Arizona! My name is Lonnie Lybarger and I am the Director of the program. This certificate program is designed to provide a solid, graduate-level foundation in key disciplines of biomedical science. The program provides students with an advanced understanding of human anatomy, functional histology, and cell biology, to prepare students for a variety of educational and career paths.
The Biomedical Sciences Certificate program is housed in the department of Cellular & Molecular Medicine (CMM), one of the five ‘basic’ science departments of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. CMM faculty run active research programs in modern molecular and cellular medicine and have a long-standing commitment to excellence in graduate and medical education. Many graduates from the program go on to pursue further education, (MS, PhD, or MD) or seek employment in biomedical fields.
Have a look around our Program and Departmental websites to explore the educational opportunities. If you have further questions about our program, please feel free to reach out. Program contact information can be found at the bottom of this page. We look forward to hearing from you!
