Dr. Ignatenko obtained her Ph.D. at RE Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, Ukraine. She completed her post-doctoral education at the University of Arizona, Tucson, USA. Dr. Ignatenko has a broad background in cancer biology with specific training in biochemistry of polyamines, and expertise in molecular biology of colorectal cancer and mouse models of cancer. She conducts research in the area of gastrointestinal malignancy with the goal of identifying and validating molecular markers and therapeutic targets of this disease.
