University of Arizona American Heart Association Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship

Program Overview
The University of Arizona American Heart Association Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to do research in a cardiovascular research laboratory for 10 weeks during the summer. The focus of the UA AHA SURF Program is training in cardiovascular drug discovery. The purpose of the program is to support career development of students in cardiovascular scientific research.
Funding
Trainees will receive a $6,000 stipend for the research experience and up to $3,000 in travel funds to attend a national AHA conference. Trainees who are not local to Tucson, Arizona are responsible for their own housing and travel expenses.
Program Dates
Check back for the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program dates for 2027. Participants will be required to attend weekly meetings and events in addition to their work in the lab.
