In a recent study led by UA Assistant Professor Casey Romanoski, PhD, the research team used genome-wide epigenetics to identify major drivers of human artery endothelial cell responses to inflammatory environments. They utilized endothelial genome sequences called enhancers to pinpoint DNA variation in humans that may underpin differential susceptibility to coronary artery disease.
