Dr. Brett Colson Awarded Multi-PI NIH Grant for the Application "Mechanisms of Thin Filament Regulation by Cardiac Myosin-Binding Protein C in Health and Disease"

Congratulations to Brett Colson on receiving a Multi-PI NIH grant in collaboration with Dr. Vitold Galkin of Old Dominion University and Dr. Julian Stelzer of Case Western Reserve University.

This collaborative effort combines expertise in cardiac muscle biology, cryo-electron microscopy, and cardiac physiology to uncover how cardiac myosin-binding protein C regulates heart muscle function in health and disease. By integrating high-resolution structural studies with molecular and functional analyses, the team aims to reveal how disruptions in these mechanisms contribute to cardiomyopathies and heart failure, paving the way for new therapeutic approaches.
