Dr. Donata Vercelli Awarded Two Multi-PI NIH Grants
Congratulations to Dr. Vercelli on receiving two Multi-PI NIH grants for the applications “Determining Diet by Microbiome Interactions that Mitigate Early Life Susceptibility to Infection and Childhood Asthma Risk” and "Regulation of Immune Response to Virus and Aeroallergen by Infant Gut Microbial Products: Mechanistic Studies.”
This collaborative effort will investigate how early-life environmental exposures, diet, and the microbiome shape immune development and susceptibility to infection, asthma, and allergies. Bringing together expertise in environmental influences, epigenetics, asthma-protective microbial exposures, and the infant microbiome and immune responses, this collaboration seeks to identify new approaches to preventative care.
