Congratulations to Dr. Vercelli on receiving two Multi-PI NIH grants. This includes a P01 for the application “Diet, microbiome and genetics at the beginning of asthma: the BEAMS birth cohort” in collaboration with Dr. Susan V. Lynch (University of California, San Francisco), Tara Carr, and Fernando Martinez. Additionally, Dr. Vercelli was awarded an R56 for the application "Anti-viral defense by natural microbial environmental agents” in collaboration with Dr. Carole Ober (University of Chicago).
Together, these collaborative projects seek to clarify how early-life environmental exposures, the microbiome, and immune responses interact to shape the risk of asthma and respiratory infections.
